Finding your files online often leads to Uploadgig (uploadgig.com). As one of the largest file hosts on the market, it handles massive amounts of daily traffic.
Our independent tests reveal a platform of extreme contrasts. The free tier is cleaner than most rivals, but it is too slow for large files. However, the premium tier unlocks excellent speeds, especially when you use a download manager.
Bottom Line: Uploadgig’s free tier is clean but very slow. In our test, free downloads stayed around 30.0 KB/s and included reCAPTCHA, a waiting timer, and an hourly download limit. Premium was much faster, especially with multiple Chrome downloads or JDownloader 2.

Uploadgig Free Tier: Clean Page, Very Slow Speed
Uploadgig’s free download page was cleaner than many file hosts we tested. We did not see aggressive popups or fake virus-style buttons during this session.
The main limitation is speed.
In our test, the free download flow required a standard reCAPTCHA check and a 60-second waiting timer before the download link became available.
Once the file started in Chrome, the speed stayed around 30.0 KB/s. For a 370 MB file, that means a multi-hour download time.
Uploadgig also applied an hourly limit in our test. When we tried to start another free download soon after the first one, the site showed a maximum-free-downloads-per-hour message.
For small files, the free tier can technically work. For large archives or multi-part downloads, it is difficult to recommend.
Premium Browser Speed: Strong Chrome Result
Uploadgig Premium performed much better than the free tier in Chrome.
A single premium browser download reached about 14.4 MB/s in our test. That is a strong result for users who prefer downloading directly through the browser.
We also tested three premium downloads at the same time. During that session, the active files ran at around 11.3 MB/s, 14.1 MB/s, and 12.4 MB/s, producing a combined browser speed above 37.8 MB/s.
This suggests that Uploadgig can perform well with parallel browser downloads, at least in our test session. Speeds can vary by region, routing, server load, account status, and active connection settings.
JDownloader 2 Test: Strong Multi-File Result
Uploadgig worked correctly with JDownloader 2 in our test.
We added the Uploadgig premium account through JD2’s Account Manager using the uploadgig.com host entry. JD2 verified the account as premium during our session.
We then tested multiple premium links in the JD2 queue. In our multi-file test, Uploadgig reached a combined transfer rate of 52.338 MB/s across active downloads.
That was the strongest Uploadgig result in our test and much faster than a single browser download. However, it should not be treated as a guaranteed speed or proof of unlimited bandwidth. Results can vary by region, routing, server load, account status, and JD2 connection settings.

Verdict
Uploadgig Premium performed well in both Chrome and JDownloader 2 during our test.
The free tier is clean but very slow. In our session, free users had to complete reCAPTCHA, wait 60 seconds, and then download at around 30.0 KB/s in Chrome. Uploadgig also applied an hourly limit after another free download attempt.
Premium was much better. A single Chrome download reached about 14.4 MB/s, and three active browser downloads reached more than 37.8 MB/s combined.
JDownloader 2 produced the strongest result. In our multi-file JD2 test, Uploadgig reached a combined 52.338 MB/s across active downloads.
Uploadgig Premium is worth testing with a short plan first if your target files are hosted there and you use Chrome parallel downloads or JDownloader 2. Before buying a longer plan, verify the current traffic rules, payment options, and whether your uploader regularly uses Uploadgig mirrors.
