🖥️ Our Real-World Setup
- Internet: 1Gbps fiber line
- Gear: Mac running Chrome & JDownloader 2
- Testing Account: Keep2Share Premium Pro
Our Keep2Share review is based on browser download checks, JDownloader 2 compatibility testing, free-tier restrictions, premium account limits, payment experience, and real-world usability. Read our full testing methodology.
Keep2Share Free Tier: Slow and Heavily Limited
Keep2Share’s free tier is difficult to use for large files. In our test, the free download page required a waiting timer before the file link became available.
Once the download started in Chrome, the speed stayed around 22.4 KB/s. For our 467 MB test archive, Chrome estimated roughly six hours of download time. That makes the free tier impractical for large archives or multi-part downloads.
The larger issue is the delay between files. After one free download, Keep2Share required a long wait before another file could be started. If your target download is split into several archive parts, the free tier becomes very slow to use.
Premium vs. Premium Pro: Check the Daily Traffic Limit First
The basic Premium plan may be too limited for heavy users because of its daily traffic allowance. If you regularly download large multi-part archives, Premium Pro is usually the safer plan to test first.
We unlocked a Premium Pro key to see how the network behaves when you remove the artificial limitations.
Premium Browser Test: Usable, But Slower Than JD2
We first tested a single Keep2Share Premium Pro link directly in Chrome. The file started without the free-tier waiting steps and reached about 5.2 MB/s in our test.
We then tested three browser downloads at the same time. During that session, the active files ran at around 3.8 MB/s, 2.3 MB/s, and 1,318 KB/s.
Browser downloading worked, but it was not the strongest way to use Keep2Share Premium Pro in our test. JDownloader 2 produced much better total throughput.
JDownloader 2 Test: Stronger Than Browser Downloads
For larger Keep2Share queues, JDownloader 2 was much more practical than clicking files manually in Chrome.
We added the Keep2Share account through JD2’s Account Manager using the k2s.cc host entry. JD2 verified the premium account and displayed the active premium status and traffic allowance.
In our three-file JD2 test, Keep2Share reached a combined transfer rate of 34.67 MB/s across active downloads.
That was much faster than our browser-only test. Speeds can vary by region, routing, server load, account tier, and JD2 connection settings.
Payment and Storage Notes
Keep2Share has clear pricing, but direct card payment may not work smoothly for every user. Some banks may flag file-hosting transactions, depending on region and card issuer.
If direct checkout fails, an official reseller may be easier. Resellers may support PayPal, crypto, or regional payment methods, but they can also add processing fees.
File retention rules also matter if you upload files. Premium accounts may receive better storage and retention terms than free accounts, but these rules can change. Always check the current Keep2Share storage policy if you use the service as an uploader.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- JDownloader 2 worked correctly in our test
- 34.67 MB/s combined JD2 result
- Premium Pro was much faster than the free tier
- Useful when target files are hosted on K2S
- Account traffic information appeared inside JD2
Cons
- Free downloads are very slow
- Free tier includes waiting steps between files
- Browser downloads were slower than JD2 in our test
- Premium Pro may be necessary for heavier users
- Payment and reseller fees should be checked before buying
Verdict
Keep2Share Premium Pro is mainly worth considering if your target files are hosted on K2S and you use JDownloader 2.
The free tier is difficult to recommend for large downloads. In our test, free downloads were limited to around 22.4 KB/s and included waiting steps between files.
Premium Pro was much better. A single Chrome download reached about 5.2 MB/s, while JDownloader 2 reached a combined 34.67 MB/s across three active downloads in our test.
The main caveat is plan selection. Basic Premium may be too limited for heavy users, so you should check the current daily traffic allowance before buying. If you regularly download large K2S archive sets, test a short Premium Pro plan first before committing to a longer subscription.
